Rotaract Relief

CASH raised by members of Hemel Hempstead's Rotaract Club will go direct to a Tsunami-hit Sri-Lankan community.

The club held a car boot sale at Ashlyns School, Berkhamsted which raised £100 and the money has gone to the Sahana Relief Fund set up by a local Sri-Lankan Community Development Worker - Santoshni Perera - who is in her home country rebuilding broken homes and shattered lives through counselling and financial assistance.

The Rotaract Club members were keen to assist in Santoshni's hands-on work that is going to help to re-establish the survivors' livelihoods. Rotaract's Nicole Connors said: "Many of the buyers of the car boot merchandise were surprised to learn that the money wasn't going into our pockets, but to a much needed fund on the other side of the world."

To help Rotaract with their charity work, please call Sheila ... The Rotaract Club is a voluntary group of 18-30 year olds affiliated to the charity Rotary Club International.
