Toddlers Surprised with Mural Magic

Toddlers at Little Acorns Playgroup in Warners End have been surprised after Christmas with a colourful, interactive and fun mural of inspiring designs to aid play and education. Hemel Hempstead Rotaract Club was asked by Playgroup leader, Jane Howard to liven the playground's dull lacklustre brick walls to something colourful and magical after reading about the Rotaract Club's previous charity murals in the Herald and Express earlier in the year. 'We wanted the children's playtime to be fun and educational and this burst of colour and energy from the mural's Garden of Eden wall coupled with the second wall of a Clown counting numbers is stimulating as well as interactive for play activity," says Jane Howard.

The Rotaract Club consisting of young adults involved in fund raising, endured the biting winter chill of December and January to complete the overall mural design. Rotaract's Publicity Officer, Sheila Chauhan said "the wind chill factor and the northern rain spells made us all the more determined to create a sunny paradox to that what we were experiencing and challenged us to work faster in the Baltic conditions. It's very satisfying to know that the toddlers are interacting and having fun with the mural." To find out more about the Rotaract Club and to join in, call the Publicity Officer Sheila Chauhan
