Water for Life Bollywood Spice Night fundraiser

On Weds 5th March 2008 we held a Bollywood Spice Night to raise money to build water wells in villages
which will help 12,000 people have access to clean running water. A pump house with a generator, and
underground pipes to water storage tanks will be built. Over £2,000 was raised. Rotaracter Sheila went
to India to help start the project. See Photos. For more
info please see the charity website
The Hospice of St. Francis
Hemel Hempstead Rotaract Club spent the whole of 2006 raising money for its nominated
charity, Hospice of St. Francis. We raised £1,150 and presented a cheque to Sarah
Thompson, Director of Fundraising, who said "At the Hospice of St Francis, I am
delighted by the support of the Hemel Rotaract this year - their support and hard
work over the year have helped to raise a significant sum of money for the Hospice,
which we'll be able to put directly to patient care. We've opened just recently
to patients in our brand new purpose built hospice building, so every penny counts.
"For more information visit the Hospice's website.
Hope For Children
Hope were are our nominated charity for 2005. Teams from Rotaract attend Hope's

Red or Dreads? Rotaract's 12 hour Comic Relief Hair Raiser!
On Friday 11th March 2005 we held a 12 hour Charity event for Comic Relief at
Hemel Hempstead Cricket Club. The event was a huge success, especially the open
mic night, not only raising money for charity but giving the young people of Hemel
Hempstead much needed live music entertainment, and showcasing talented up and
coming local bands and performers. The venue was full to capacity, and a very
good time was had by everyone. The event raised in excess of £700 pounds to kick
start the lives of the less fortunate in the UK and in Africa. Please see press
release for more details and photos taken at
the event. |

On 13 February 05 we held a boot sale at Ashlyns School Berkhamsted for the Tsunami
