With the generosity of the public we made over £2,000. Thanks to everyone who took part in this
successful event, all monies raised has been given to Water for Life. Rotaracter Sheila, went to India to
see how our money was spent and was very impressed. She said "We saw the inauguaration of two water wells,
which means that before they start the work, they carry out a ritual to bless the work that is about to
happen. It was lovely ceremony where the local people, press media and local Mayoress were invited.
There was a lot of coverage on the work, with articles in local paper and television interviews etc and
the Mayoress stating how grateful she was for our kind support to help local villages have access to
clean running water. In total with the two water wells, we have given access to over 12,000 people to have
clean running water. A job well done - thank you!"
Please see press release for more details.
